5 Bollywood Celebrities Who Became Overnight Stars But Couldn’t Deal With The Pressure Of Fame

There are a lot of celebrities who shot to fame overnight and became sensations. People loved them for their talent, but they soon faded into oblivion. Apparently, they couldn’t handle the popularity. The fame crushed them.







1. Yo Yo Honey Singh

few songs on YouTube and Honey Singh AKA Yo Yo became an overnight star. From his singles to songs in Bollywood, he was a rage among people from all age groups. Even kids danced and hummed the tunes of his songs. He ruled the industry but soon vanished into thin air.  He was judging a reality music show, which he suddenly quit and hasn’t made a public appearance since then.  What happened to Honey Singh? From speculations being rife that he is in a rehab to get rid of his alcohol addiction to rumours doing the rounds that he has bipolar disorder, there were crazy rumours everywhere. Some even said that Shah Rukh Khan had slapped him when he was under the influence of alcohol.

2. Kapil Sharma

The man needs no introduction. Starting his career after becoming the winner of a comedy reality show, Kapil Sharma’s career graph only saw upswing. So much so, he became the most popular Indian comedian and his show was the highest rated TRP show.  However, one public fight with co-stars changed his fate. His show had to be shut and he was under depression, he confessed. He tried to revive his career after several months with a new show, but his past was still haunting him.

3. Parveen Babi


She was one of the most sought after actresses in 70s and 80s but in real life, she had a rather lonely existence. Parveen Babi's career graph went on a downward trajectory. She wouldn’t get many film offers and neither was she seen or heard of in the industry circles. And one day, she was mysteriously found dead at her home in 2005.



4. Kuljeet Randhawa


Popular TV actress Kuljeet Randhawa who had worked in shows including CATS and Special Squad committed suicide at her house in Juhu and her fans were left in shock.  “I am no more able to handle the pressure of life so, I am taking a big step of ending my life,” she wrote in her suicide note.

5. Silk Smitha


In her career spanning over seventeen years, she did about 450 films. The south siren was rage for her bold appearances in films.  Failed romances and a later unsuccessful career as a producer is what led to her depression. She committed suicide by consuming poison at the age of 35 and left the world for her heavenly abode.
